Fiber of the Week - April 29, 2009

Photo: Fred Abrahams for the New York Times

I don't have a picture of this week's Fiber of the Week, but here's the sweet beast it comes from. Have you ever heard an alpaca hum? It's a most endearing sound. This week's fiber of the week is Frog Tree's Alpaca Sport that is 25% off. Please check the website for color availability. Frog Tree is a very special company, and one that Rob is proud to be associated with. Here's a quote from the Frog Tree home page:

"As a result of our experience living and working at the grassroots level in Peru, Bolivia, Mexico and the USA for many years, we founded Frog Tree Yarns.
We believe that talented, hard-working artisans should receive a just wage in order to provide a dignified life for their families.
We believe that our clients should receive the same treatment.
We price fairly our high quality products.
We emphasize prompt customer service.
And we commit to creating a sense of community, mutual respect and enjoyment in our working relationships.
We strive to use the company we founded, Frog Tree Yarns, as a tool for supporting educational and environmental projects throughout the world."

And the specs on the yarn:
