We have a winner!

Hello all!
We have a winner in the first round of our infant hat promotion. Although we only received two entries we feel that it is a good baby step towards building a program we can continue to run for quite some time. Our two entrants were Laurel and Leslie, Laurel took it in a very exciting coin toss. Since Leslie was such a good sport and since I am in charge Leslie will get a $25 gift certificate towards yarn on our website www.covetedyarn.com for runner up. Thanks to both of you to take time from the holiday season to support this program. I am sure that we will see many more hats in round two! I will try to get photos of the hats on tonight.

Round 2

December 25th through March 31st.
Send an infant hat in to Coveted Yarn at the address below and each hat (there is no maximum) will count as an entry into our drawing for a $50 gift certificate. Each hat must be received before the deadline to count in this drawing. All hats will be donated to hospitals to give to newborns and their families. We hope to receive a lot of hats. There is no purchase necessary. Since all hats will be donated they will not be returned. If you have any questions please e-mail us at info@covetedyarn.com

Nearing the end of our first round!!

Hello all,
We are nearing the end of our first drawing period. Unfortunately we didn't get too many hats yet. We will have a drawing tomorrow morning as promised. We have reason to believe that hats are on their way but won't arrive in time for this contest. As a result we have decided to try another one.

So, All hats received between 12/25/07 and 3/31/08 will be entered into the next round. The winner will be picked at random from all entries. Each infant hat donated will constitute one entry, with no limit on how many you can send in. The winner will receive a $50 credit towards Coveted Yarn purchases! There is NO purchase necessary to enter or win. As long as we receive at least one hat there will be a drawing.

All hats will be donated to local hospitals for the newborn nurseries.

This is a great way to turn some scrap yarn into a "quickie" feel good project. Maybe you need a break from what you are working on now?

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail at info@covetedyarn.com

To see what we have for yarns you might like visit us at www.covetedyarn.com

Thanks to all and please spread the word!

Newborn Hat contest

Hello all.

I have received only one hat so far for this promotion. If I receive no more hats than the knitter of that one hat will automatically win the $50 gift certificate for the website. There is no purchase necessary. I know it is very busy this time of year but a newborn hat from some scrap yarn should take no more than a few minutes. It is a nice thing to do as the hats will be donated to Beverly hospital to be given to newborns there. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Here is the lone hat in the contest so far. Deadline for entries is 11:59 PM on December 24th.
Happy knitting!!!

Update on Hats for Newborns promotion

We have now received our first hat for this promotion!
Jennifer is the only one in the drawing for the $50 gift certificate to be drawn on Christmas morning. As it stands right now she will be the recipient of the gift certificate!

There is no purchase necessary to enter this drawing, you need only send in a hat for a newborn. Each hat received will count as an entry into the drawing. To sweeten the deal we are also giving a %10 discount off your next order from knitters who send in hats.

We are hoping to make this an ongoing program and we are looking for your support to do this.

All hats that are donated are going to be donated to hospital nurseries for newborns.

If you have an idea for a promotion and would like to share it please let us know.

A little promotion for some wee ones

Hi all,
The blog seems to be rip roaring!!
Oh well, here is an idea I came up with when we were at the hospital several weeks ago bringing our little girl into the world.

If you send me a little newborn hat I will take 10% off your entire order! I will then donate the hats to Beverly hospital to donate to the newborns and their families. We received one and overheard there was a shortage. It was a really nice thing and it would be a shame for not everyone to not have that little bit of niceness.

This offer is not cumulative(ie. if you send in 5 hats you won't get 50% off your order, just 10%) and only applies to orders placed through the website. I will keep track of the hats as I receive them and send a refund for 10% of your order after I receive payment. I was hoping to incorporate it into the ordering process but it is too involved and I don't want to wait. There are bare heads out there!

Each hat donated will also equal one entry into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate for our yarns.
There will be no cap (he he) on the number of entries allowed. The drawing will be held Christmas morning so you might just get an extra Christmas present!!

Please send the hats to:

Coveted Yarn
PO BOX 6015
Gloucester, MA 01930

Please include your contact info so I know who is sending what and can apply the discounts and entrries as necessary.

Please feel free to post your favorite baby hat patterns or links to them. It would be really nice to be able to make this a continuing program. We look forward to sharing a little handmade love with a lot of little ones.

Thanks so much!
-Robert

Worse than a Number 11 in the eye ;)

This post is for those not quite peaceful moments that seem to come up knitting. You look down at the pattern and it is not what you are knitting, or maybe it was. Something is missing, broken, or just not quite right. Tell us all about it and maybe just maybe there is a good Samaritan out there who has fought the good fight and can help you out! Maybe you are the good Samaritan. Either way... fire away!

Welcome to Coveted Yarn's Blog!!

Hello and welcome to Coveted Yarn's Blog. We are hoping to use this blog to keep in touch with our fiber customers. We would also like to make it a place where you can go to get some answers when you need them, or maybe give someone an answer when someone else needs it.

We will try to have it broken up a little so we will have different posts on different topics. This will also be where you can get the details on specials, sales, and fun programs we are putting together.

If you are local to Cape Ann it will hopefully mature into a fiber resource to keep informed about current events as well.

All in all we hope you enjoy yourself while getting your daily dose of fiber.

Thanks for stopping by!

-Robert
