What a great thing you're doing. I've been looking for some newborn hat patterns and have noticed that some say that hospitals specifically request non-wool yarns. I have some superwash wool that I was planning to use, but want to make sure the hospital will be able to use what I make. What kind of yarn is best? (There's plenty of just about everything in the stash, so I'll enter even if I can't use the superwash. It just seemed like the best choice for a newborn to me.)

Do you accept preemie hats, too? I just ran across the website (link on Crochetville). I'll make sure and mention the contest on my blog, so maybe you can get some more traffic!

For anonymous,
I had a similar concern when I was inquiring about starting hte program. There are allergies to almost everything out there so I was concerned about different fibers. I have resubmitted the question to one of the nurses just in case but as of right now any fiber will be great. I look forward to receiving your hat(s).

For Amanda,
We do accept preemie hats too. Most babies are not preemies though so there is more demand for regular newborn size hats. We welcome hats, traffic and ideas.
Thank you for spreading the word.
