Something to sink your teeth into!

For the month of March we will take a portion of our gross sales and donate it to Harvest Meals. Harvest Meals is a program through Cape Ann Interfaith. It provides meals for those who need them. It is a great program and one that I am personally familiar with and proud to have been able to take part in. This is in addition to our hat contest which you can read about below. Another update on the Newborn hat contest!

Here are ten more hats for the contest!!! I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is taking part. This is a real fun project on my end and I never would have figured I would be so excited on my way to the PO BOX.

Newborn hat contest: Donate a knit or crocheted hat to the cause and each hat entered will be counted as an entry into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to our website: www.covetedyarn.com All hats will be donated to the Beverly Hospital to be given to newborns. There is no limit on the number of hats you can send in. To be eligible all hats must be received by end of day on March 31st. If you are running a little behind schedule don't worry as we are running this contest quarterly. All hats should be sent to:

Another Update!

Here are 5 more hats for our baby hat contest! Remember they can be knit or crocheted, newborn hats would be best in any pattern or yarn that would be good for little babies. Each hat entered is donated and counts as one entry for the drawing to be held on March 31st. The program will likely be continued indefinately as it is really fun and a pleasure to run. Please tell your friends about his one, it is really a nice thing to do and doesn't cost anything (except for postage to send a hat along). If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Most info can be found through earlier posts.

Update on hat contest

Hello all,

Here are the 4 hats we have so far for this quarter's contest. Each hat donated is an entry into the contest!

We would really like this to be a strong program, but we need your support!! There is no purchase necessary, just a little time and some leftover yarn. Take a few minutes from the project that is making you crazy and make a hat for a little baby. Don't tell me you don't like babies.

We look forward to receiving many many many more hats. Thanks to all who have sent one (or some) in and even those who just spread the word.

We have a winner!

Hello all!
We have a winner in the first round of our infant hat promotion. Although we only received two entries we feel that it is a good baby step towards building a program we can continue to run for quite some time. Our two entrants were Laurel and Leslie, Laurel took it in a very exciting coin toss. Since Leslie was such a good sport and since I am in charge Leslie will get a $25 gift certificate towards yarn on our website www.covetedyarn.com for runner up. Thanks to both of you to take time from the holiday season to support this program. I am sure that we will see many more hats in round two! I will try to get photos of the hats on tonight.

Send an infant hat in to Coveted Yarn at the address below and each hat (there is no maximum) will count as an entry into our drawing for a $50 gift certificate. Each hat must be received before the deadline to count in this drawing. All hats will be donated to hospitals to give to newborns and their families. We hope to receive a lot of hats. Nearing the end of our first round!!

Hello all,
We are nearing the end of our first drawing period. Unfortunately we didn't get too many hats yet. We will have a drawing tomorrow morning as promised. We have reason to believe that hats are on their way but won't arrive in time for this contest. As a result we have decided to try another one.

So, All hats received between 12/25/07 and 3/31/08 will be entered into the next round. The winner will be picked at random from all entries. Each infant hat donated will constitute one entry, with no limit on how many you can send in. The winner will receive a $50 credit towards Coveted Yarn purchases! There is NO purchase necessary to enter or win. As long as we receive at least one hat there will be a drawing.

All hats will be donated to local hospitals for the newborn nurseries.

This is a great way to turn some scrap yarn into a "quickie" feel good project. Maybe you need a break from what you are working on now?

Newborn Hat contest

Hello all.

I have received only one hat so far for this promotion. If I receive no more hats than the knitter of that one hat will automatically win the $50 gift certificate for the website. There is no purchase necessary. I know it is very busy this time of year but a newborn hat from some scrap yarn should take no more than a few minutes. It is a nice thing to do as the hats will be donated to Beverly hospital to be given to newborns there. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Here is the lone hat in the contest so far. Deadline for entries is 11:59 PM on December 24th.
